Merriest of Christmases to You and Yours

It's the 23rd, and excitement reigns at the Richey household, as C.J. is home for a couple of

weeks, and Chartel is in contact, expected Christmas Day for dinner and gift exchanges.

Could I be more blessed? Hardly. Our prayer for you all is that you will enjoy the JOY

that the Living Christ only can give, and that you will celebrate His birth IN YOUR

HEART. GOD BLESS US EVERYONE, AND HAVE A JESUS-FILLED HOLIDAY!!!

Love, C.J. Chartel, and Bill

HAPPY, HOLY HOLIDAYS!

GREETINGS, PILGRIM(S)!!

We trust that you are in the throes of the best holiday season of your lives.

It's always at this time that I count my blessings, which are basically
innumerable! PTL!

Here's the latest from Jayne's brood and husband. How she loved this
time of the year! Advent calendars, manger scene, colorful but tasty
decorations were her forte', and memories come flooding back of the
joy she exhibited, especially at Christmas, the birthday celebration
of her (and our, and hopefully your) Saviour!

I know I'm a bit early with December's post, but I'm soon to be
"on the road again" (later).

Chartel is fine, having turned 18 last month, and living with a co-
worker from Starbucks. They work many of the same shifts, so
they share rides, etc. She has now also picked up a parttime job
waitressing at Quaker Steak and Lube, which is close to her
fulltime job.

Somewhat surprisingly, she showed up on Thanksgiving day
(her brother was already here) and we shared pork chop dinner.
It's the one of two times annually that I actually get to cook.
She brought a "friend" home with her - a monster dog, which
she says is only 7 months old, but he's as big as a small pony.

Yes, she is making her car and insurance payments, probably
because she is making more money than I do! Otherwise, her
health seems to be fine, and she's grown to be a beautiful
young lady. If only her Mom was here to see her!

As for "Mr. C.J.", he, too is blessed with good health. Now a
"man", having turned 21 in September, he's working on his
plans for his career, etc. There seems to be some question as
to whether the Peace Corps option is a viable one, but it is
still being mentioned.

He still plays soccer 2 or 3 times a week, as his schedule has
eased up a bit. He works at tutoring elementary students on
their Spanish. He's looking forward to having 5th graders in
his next class, hoping for better attention and behavior.

His Thanksgiving visit was shortened by his having forgotten
to bring a book home that he needed to study, and the usual
Saturday morning soccer game. We did get some time together
to talk, but should have quite a bit for Christmas, as he will
probably be here 3 days after I get back from my next
assignment.

Speaking of which, I leave Tuesday AM for Portland, Maine, then
drive down to Kittery. Seven days at the Rite Aid store there,
then a couple days "off", during which I plan to sightsee Boston,
visit 2 or 3 stores that I already trained at, then on to my next
job at Great Barrington, Mass. I'll be gone about 18 days, getting
home on December 14th. Chartel will check on the house while
I'm gone, as will two of my neighbors. Being gone will sure help
with the utility bills, hey? Hey!

Feel free to post comments or greetings. I hope you still have the
"kids'" phone numbers. PLEASE call them from time to time, just
to let them know someone is thinking about them. I talk with
them via cellphone regularly, sometimes for no special reason,
just to hear their voices and know they're okay.

HAVE A GLORIOUS CHRISTMAS, AND PLEASE REMEMBER

WHY WE HAVE CHRISTMAS. GOD LOVES YOU, AND SO DO WE!

HIS AND YOURS, C.J., CHARTEL, AND BILL

November News From We 3

It's a chilly, frosty morning here in "lovely" (?) Slovan, PA, and I have to go to work soon.

I would have been off today, nice to watch the Steelers and Colts-Patriots game, but I

have another assignment coming up, so "Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho,.........."

Not much to report, except that we are all fine and doing well, thank God! C.J. is working

on his plans for GRADUATE SCHOOL, which will be in Washington, D.C., possibly at

American University. The Peace Corps requires some additional studies to be sure

that their applicants have the best grasp of the languages and cultures they are going

to live in for 2 years. I'll keep you posted as to his progress as I get reports. He's

planning to be home for a couple of days for Thanksgiving, then of course a few more

for Christmas.

Chartel is still at her girlfriends house, working and travelling together. She did come

home for me to check the fluids in her car, and she is making her car payments, so I

guess things are okay with her.

I have another training assignment for Rite Aid, this one in Charleston, South Carolina.

I know, it's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it, so why not me? I leave Wednesday

morning out of Pittsburgh Airport, fly down, pick up my rental car, check in at my

hotel, visit the store we'll be working at, then spend 12 to 14 hours there on Thursday,

the day they start being a Rite Aid. I brought back some beautiful pictures from my

last trip, to Dennisport, MA, on Cape Cod, and if I ever figure out how to upload them

I will. Otherwise, I just finished my first football report writing season, which can be

viewed at "PAFocus.com" (listed last posting as well), and now have a month off before

basketball starts. I'm enjoying it too much (very).

THAT'S ALL FOLKS! Sorry to be so short, but the status quo prevails, which is not

a bad thing, I think. BLESSINGS to you all. HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!

Until next post - C.J., Chartel, and Bill, with love.

OCTOBER WITH THE RICHEYS

Good day, we trust all is well with you. We pray so.

THANKS for your "checking in" - it appears somebodies are interested in what's
happening with Jayne's family.

C.J. is "digging in" at Messiah College, making the most out of his last few months
there. He's slacked off of playing soccer to pursue those things that will matter
most for his future, and to get himself ready for whatever God has in store for him.

He will be home this week for dentist and doctor visits, and a little "R and R",
catching up on what's new with his high-school friends. I'm hoping he'll be home
for more than a couple of days when the holidays get here, as I won't be here
to see him this visit, again! More about that later.

Chartel is still working at Starbucks near the big mall by the airport, and seems
to be unencumbered by a boyfriend at the present. Huh? I can't keep up with
her comings and goings, as we're rarely home at the same time, what with our
very different work schedules, etc. She manages to get here when she needs
"something", such as clean clothes, a shower, money(?), food, et al. Oh well,
SHE'LL BE 18 ON THE 18th!!! Can you believe it? Jayne's little "terror"
(daughter), "little Lellie", WILL ACTUALLY BE 18! WOW! Not sure what's
she's planning to do yet, but she talks about technical school or junior college
after New Year's.

Did I tell you what her GED score was? The "Standard Score Average" as
stated on the report we received is 666. Her score, (are you sitting down?),
is 3,330!! Yes, that's 3 thousand, 3 hundred, and thirty! Through the roof!
She has so much potential, so much God-given ability, so much natural
intelligence, that I pray daily she'll put it to some good use. ANY good use!
Please pray for her. Thank you.

Personally, I've done quite a bit of travelling for Rite Aid. My first gig was in
Bridgewater, Massachusetts, then to Butler, PA, then to Springfield, Mass.
and Holyoke, and Ware (all in one trip), and now on to Dennis Port, Mass, on
CAPE COD! I leave Monday morning (the 8th), fly to Boston (again), pick up
my rental car (company covers everything), drive to South Yarmouth, and
begin work at 9 AM Tuesday. Will be training former Brooks Pharmacy
employees again, but hope to do some serious sight-seeing up the Cape and
along the shore, especially the lighthouses, and hopefully Martha's Vineyard.

While in Springfield I drove past the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, where
I spent 5 hours on Sunday before coming home. What an exciting experience!
Of course, I picked up T-shirts for Chartel and myself, some Spurs souvenirs
for C.J. and some Hall of Fame pens. Never thought I'd get a chance to see
that place, and I thank God for the opportunity!

Otherwise, the work on the house is done until Spring, 'cept I still hope to
finish painting the porch. That is if I can stay home long enough. I came home
this last time to 7 boxes of American Greetings items that I needed to put
up. Whew! I'm told this is my last trip until the first of the year, probably
because of the holidays, etc., but I'm on the list for future assignments. I told
my District Office contact that I'll go anywhere anytime. I'm liking these
"working vacations"!

One more thing............I mentioned that I resigned from the Teen Center......
now I'm writing sports for the weekly newspaper that covers northwest
Washington County! My beat is the Burgettstown High School sports, and
I'll be filing my 4th football game report tomorrow. The paper comes out
on Wednesdays, dated Thursdays, and can be accessed at "PAFocus.com"
if you want to ready my handiwork. I've gotten positive comments, so hope
to pursue my "new career" into the basketball and baseball seasons if I
can do so.

IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO DO THE THINGS YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO!

Signing off for now. THANKS for caring - now it's time for sharing. Please let us
know what's happening with you and yours, and how everybody is. God Bless You!

September '07 "ramblings"?!

I'm sure you've been anxiously awaiting my new post - well, be anxious no more, as here it is:

C.J. is now a Senior at Messiah College, having been home recently for a dentist and doctor
appointments, and repeating same for Fall Break October 11-14. His latest "thing" is to join
the Peace Corps (!), hoping to go to Morroco, where they need French and Spanish speaking
people, which, of course, he does well at. THIS SHOULD BE INTERESTING! Thankfully, the
college is offering the course(s) he needed to get the proper accreditation he's working toward,
having such course(s) recently added to this year's curriculum. And some say God is sleeping!
HUH! I don't think so!

He still plays soccer every chance he gets, both on and off campus, hoping to make the club
team, which has a shorter schedule than the varsity, and, of course, less pressure as far as
practicing, etc. They do play the club teams of other area colleges, so that should be a very
exciting experience for him should he make the team.

He's hoping to purchase his own car soon, having saved some of his summer's pay, and I'll
help some if he finds a car he's happy with. That'll mean a trip to Harrisburg, which I will
gladly do to help him get the "car of his dreams"!?

Chartel is now working for Starbucks, full-time, and hoping to still work part-time at her
old Eat 'N' Park job. She's making her monthly car/insurance payments on time, thank
the Lord, though I still contribute most of the cost of her insurance. Her license will be
suspended as of Tuesday, and she still hasn't sent in her application for a work-related
driving permit, so it will be "interesting" to see what happens. I can't let her drive, since
the car is still in my name, because if she gets caught, she could have her license revoked
or suspended further, and our insurance may be cancelled! OUCH! I can't have that, as
C.J. and I both still need to drive. I'm hoping her probation officer will be able to help in
this situation. I'll call her when I'm done with this "post".

Do you still have the kids' cellphone numbers? Chartel's is 304-374-4490, and C.J.'s is
304-914-2249, and mine is 724-263-0505 -----NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS, PLEASE.

I'm too busy, the reason for resigning from the Teen Center effective September 30th.
I'll still chaperone and help with fundraising, but will concentrate more of my energies
on the Boxing Club. Also, Rite Aid has made me a "Store Integration Specialist", which
sends me out to some of the Brooks and Eckerd stores which we bought, helping them to
transition into the Rite Aid systems and policies. I spent a week in Bridgewater, Mass.,
recently, and will be in Butler, PA this coming week. Then, on the 25th I'll go to Holyoke,
Mass., be back 5 or 6 days, and go again to Townsend, Mass. I did my first commercial
flying on the previous trip, with no problems, and will do so on the other 2 Massachusetts
ventures. The company provides a rental car, hotel room, and allows $50 daily for meals!
I can't eat that much, drat! I will drive a rental car this week, as Butler is only about
90 minutes away. I'll stay up there, as 3 hours of driving on top of the work day (some-
times 12 hours) is a bit too much.

My physique was much improved when I took the last trip, but I lifted and carried a
rack that I shouldn't, so I'm back into therapy, having had 3 back-to-back-to-back
sessions this week past. I'm feeling better, but now I have to not do anything stupid
again. What are the chances? Hush! That wasn't nice. Ha-Ha.

Got some laundry going as I need to pack soon, especially since I'm working all day (12 1/2
hours) tomorrow, and have to leave at 7 AM Tuesday to drive to Butler. A friend will take
me to the Pittsburgh Airport after work tomorrow to pick up the rental car.

GOT NEWS? Let us know, please. Call, write, or "post" your own blog as I've been doing.
It's easy. Try it, you'll like it. Let me know so I can read it (and comment, of course).

"Until then", we love you and thank you for your care, love, and interest in us Richeys.

AUGUST '07 NEWS

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?

Good whatever-you're-having to you! Thanks for checking us out again.

Here's the latest from our house to your house or office or library or
wherever you are:

Not a lot of "news" this month, but some significant news, I think:

Chartel is working steadily at her "Eat 'N' Park" job, making decent money,
(more than I do, duh!), and seeing Donny regularly. She says she wants to
double-up or triple-up on her car/insurance payments, just to get that
obligation out of the way, I guess, so she can "get on with life", whatever
that entails. She's talked about sharing an apartment with a girlfriend or
two, and if she keeps doing well at her job she'll have no problem making
her rent payments, etc. We'll see.

Yesterday her driver's license suspension notice came, and she's to turn in
her license for a photo-id card, beginning September 4th, and lasting for 6
months! OUCH! We/she will go down to the State Legislator's office to
apply for a work-permit type of id so she can at least get to work and back.
Otherwise, Donny, Tammy, Brittany (and I?) will have to transport her
or she'll take a risk of getting caught! Hopefully she's mature enough not
to test the state and she'll follow the rules, hoping for an early reinstatement.

C.J. is enjoying his summer with a lot of soccer playing, trying to save some
money for a car (of his chosing), and getting close to one Michelle (?)! He
wants to pick out his own set of wheels, with probably a flashier color than
the black Lumina, and probably one that gets better gas mileage, though
the Lumina gets 30 to 32 mpg on the highway.

In case I didn't mention it before, he "aced" his summer course, and will be
doing his last semester starting late this month. His "student teaching" will
be in the Spring of '08, so he'll basically be out of class as far as studying and
doing homework, etc. goes. I'm excited for him as he begins his teaching, as
I often wish that I had taken that route for myself. He'll be home for a few
days the middle of the month, getting his teeth cleaned, getting a checkup,
seeing some friends, etc. He won't get to see his Father, as I won't be here
(details to follow). I'll have to try to arrange a trip to Messiah to visit him
for a day or two, saving vacation for graduation in May, and hopefully another
trip to Wisconsin next summer.

Rite Aid, my main employer, has asked me to go to Bridgewater, Massachusetts
for a week to help with a transition for an Eckerd store that will be changing
overnight to a Rite Aid. We are going out in teams of 2 to give technical and
not-so-technical support to the managers and staff of one of the over 1800
Brooks/Eckerd Pharmcies that we recently acquired. After this pilot project
we may be asked to go again (and again?), to which I will say "Yes!". I will
be flown out of Pittsburgh, given a rental car, put into a hotel, and allowed $50
daily for meals! Not a bad gig, hey? Only catch is that I've never flown on
a commercial plane before, so I'll have to take a tranquilizer or something
before "departing"! Huh? Why did I use that word? Anyway, I had to go to
the District Office, 90 minutes away, for a day of training, and my managers
are updating my cranial "databank" with any additional info I may be asked
to provide when I'm there. We'll work 6 of the 7 days, with a day off to see
some sights, such as historical Boston, Plymouth Rock, etc.

Otherwise, my physical therapy is over, and I'm almost 100%. I did start back
at the grocery store this week, on a limited basis, and must continue to do my
daily stretches/exercises to stay loose and keep the pain/discomfort away. If
it becomes too much, I'll just have to quit the grocery store..

I'll be submitting my resignation to the Teen Center on Tuesday evening, as it
gets harder and harder to commit the energy and time needed to do anything
close to a decent job of leading and fundraising. I'll continue to chaperone one
night a week if they want, but will have to leave the Director's position and
money manipulation to someone else. Hopefully, prayerfully, there's someone
in the community that can and will step up and lead the Center on to bigger
and better things. I'm tired!

My trip to Kimberly was FUNTASTIC!! My time with Bill and Colleen and the
boys was most enjoyable, as we did some sightseeing, picnicing, beachcombing,
swimming, fun-center playin, and eating some of that excellent Wisconsin
cuisine! I brought back some cheddar brats, regular brats, chess curds, string
cheese, spreads, etc. to share with Chartel and C.J. and whoever. Also got a
package of bratburgers in the freezer for a special occasion, such as wanting
them! While out there we also visit Lambeau Field and the Green Bay Packer
Hall of Fame! My friend John Meyer came down from Iron Mountain, Michigan,
and toured with us, followed by lunch at an "infamous" eatery just down the
street from the stadium. Bryce, Garrett and Nolan are so enjoyable to be
around! Each one is in karate, Bryce is also playing football, and Nolan runs
non-stop. It's such a joy to see their individual characteristics and personal-
ities - each one is so different, yet in some ways so alike. Nolan got to drive
his first bumper car by himself at the fun center, and was it funny to watch!
I brought back pictures from each of the activities we did, and it brings such
joy to relive the experience!

Okay, it's Sunday and I'm trying to catch up on laundry, housework, etc.
May go bumming later, as the local Catholic church is having their annual
"Festival" nearby - good food, games, raffles, friends to talk to, etc. Oh, I
almost forgot - a group of 5 of us from the Teen Center went to Wheeling,
W.Va. last night to see WWE Raw! Some of the touring professional
rasslers (wrestlers) were putting on a show, and it was quite a "show"!
It was hard to "get into it", but the guys enjoyed it, so I want along, doing
my usual shouting of "cute" sayings a few times. Hey, for $21 I should be
allowed to speak my piece, hey? Anyway, I won't be doing that again.
Once is more than enough. Oh, in case anyone is interested, some of the
participants were John Cena, Randy Orton, "King" Booker, Tony Rhodes
(Dusty's son), "Hacksaw" Jim Duncan, Umaga (?), and others.

HAVE A GREAT AUGUST, AND PLEASE KEEP IN TOUCH!

Love, Chartel, C.J., and Bill

July '07

Good day, Sir or Madam! Thank you for your interest in the Slovan branch of the Richey family.

How are things with you? ALWAYS happy to hear from you, whether by blog comments,
email, phone, or letter. A personal visit would be welcome, too!

Been busy trying to get "this old house" into shape. Took out a home equity loan at the bank
to combine with a little left from the tax refund, and have been fixing things up with help from
a couple of friends. Got a new 3-glass-door medicine cabinet and light bar in the bathroom,
(Chartel really likes it!), a new surround over the tub, a new light fixture in the kitchen
(replacing the old shaky fan and single/uncovered light bulb fixture), new boards and shingles
on the porch, flashing on the chimney and hot water vents, repaired kitchen faucet, and Chartel and Donny (her latest, a really nice guy!) are starting to paint the porch and retaining wall!
Already replaced the furnace last October - a Sears 85% efficiency unit which has already
reduced our heating bills by $100 a month! - and paid it off with tax refund $s. Thank God!
Will replace the water heater, too, soon, as I think it's on its way out. Then - hopefully,
prayerfully, that will be it for a long time. Plan to sit back and enjoy and watch the house
rot if it will, or may sell it and get something smaller like a 2-bedroom apartment, once the
"little princess" decides what her life's direction is going to be.

Speaking of the "little princess", her latest employment in the headquarters' restaurant of
the Eat 'n' Park chain seems to suit her fine! PTL! She's starting to wait tables, and likes the
experience of bringing home tips every time she works. That relieves the "hey, Dad, can I
borrow some money?" requests, though the "borrowing" term is probably not appropriate.
Ha-Ha! Her court hearing from her last October's episode has her on probation, confined to
home between llPM and 7AM, with only the exceptions of work. We expect to hear from the
state soon, conditionally suspending her driving privileges for anything but work related
purposes. Yes, "we" had to pay a couple of fines, which she will be reimbursing the "bank"
for (me), and she must get her GED certificate and attend substance abuse classes a few
weeks, probably Saturday mornings. Parenthood, what a joy! Not sure I'm cut out for it!
What? Too late? DRAT!

C.J. is enjoying his summer working at school - midnight shift- and attending his once-a-week
class. As I probably already reported, most of his class work is done independently, online,
in the library, writing papers, etc. I think he's coming home on Thursday July 5th for a day
or so, which will be nice, probably including a physical, eye exam, etc., with a dental checkup
and cleaning next month when he journeys westward to Slovan. He's talked about getting his
own vehicle, but as long as the Lumina is running good and looking fine, he might as well keep
saving his money, if that's what he's doing!? My old station wagon keeps perking, and I don't
go anywhere but work usually, and don't date at all right now, so things are okay. Can you
believe he's graduating college next May! WOW! WOW!

Lord willing, I'll be in Kimberly to visit Bill and family from July 13th through 18th. Not sure
if I'm going to borrow Chartel's Intrepid or take the Greyhound, but I plan to go. Got a few
days of vacation to take or lose, and I'm going. Also, I took leave from the IGA so I can
concentrate on getting my back fixed. Therapy is going slowly, but "they tell me" that I'm
making progress. Wish I felt the way they think and I think I should feel! Anyway, I'm doing
my exercises, getting 2 or 3 sessions at the clinic a week, and will by done before I leave for
beautiful Wisconsin. Will work all day on the 4th (13 hours), but will get holiday pay, so will
have Thursday and Friday off (in addition to tomorrow), so plan to help the youngsters
finish the painting project. Considering an early Christmas present to myself in the buying
a ticket to see/hear Josh Groban at the Mellon Arena, Pittsburgh on August 4th. Don't like
spending the money, but "I'm worth it", and I don't spend money on myself for anything
else, so there's a good chance I'm going to do it, all things being cooperating. Want to go?

I think I've rambled on enough. Thanks for your posts! Comments/replies welcome.
C.J. will have a new cellphone number probably starting tomorrow if the package arrives
when it's supposed to - it is (304) 914-2249. Thanks for reading - God Bless - Bill.

WELCOME to "Richeyville", June '07

GREETINGS, family and friends, and welcome to Richeyville, Summer (almost), June, and the
latest from Slovan. We pray that all is well with you and yours. THANKS for the 15 "hits" we
received on our May blog.

It's Sunday afternoon, June 3rd, a bit cloudy and sprinkly, but warm and humid. Chartel is
"lounging" in her room, C.J. is at Messiah College, the kitten is resting comfortably on the footrest
of the reclining loveseat, and I just finished some laundry. Hope to clean up and catch a movie
in a few, since this is the first of a 6-day vacation and I want to "unwind" a bit.

Chartel still hasn't made arrangements for her GED test, though she insists she is going to do it
"soon". I know she'll "ace" it, as everybody at both schools continue to say how smart she is.
Hope she decides soon what she wants to do in life so we can work toward that goal. She has
"only" one job now, at Boston Market, the upper-scale chicken restaurant, and makes enough
to keep up her car and insurance payments (partial on the insurance part), and still have some
"blowing" money. Her latest "crush", Donny, works and goes to school, either a Tech or local
college, and appears to be a very upstanding young gentleman. The two times he's been at
the house when I've been home, and on the phone, he's impressed me with his courtesy,
speech, mannerisms, and maturity. He's 21, and about twice the size of Chartel, but they seem
to get along very well (?).

As for C.J., he made a quick trip home this week to get some of his belongings like bedding and
study light, in addition to some $s, and a dinner with Dad at Ponderosa. I won a gun ($) at a
local gun-bash recently, and converted its $204 value into $50 gift cards for both offspring,
got a much-needed pair of sneakers and double thick socks for myself with my card, and let
C.J. use his and my $34 balance (Dick's Sporting Goods), which he got a new tennis raquet
and cover, shirt and shorts, and tennis balls. At least he'll look good on the court! Ha-Ha.
Actually, he plays a mean game of tennis, and with his improving acumen and my declining
ability, he beat me last time we played, which was about 18 months ago! He plans to come
home for a day or two each month, and a week or two at the end of summer before school
starts back up. He seems to have no problems working midnight shift at the school, and
that's good as his summer class begins soon.

As for me - where do I start (or stop?). I finally got to the neurosurgeon, and he has pre-
scribed 3-a-week physical therapy sessions for a month, a shot in my back where the problem
seems to stem from, all in the hopes of avoiding surgery. I take a vicadin or 2 every day, along
with an anti-inflammatory or two to keep going. While on vacation this week I'm working a
bit at the grocery store, though nothing heavy or long. I did work 4 hours today and will do
the same tomorrow, as I'm "needed"!? Huh? I plan to do some repairing, painting, major
cleaning, etc. before Saturday (Friday, actually, as I'm taking some of the teens from the
Teen Center to the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio on Friday after school's early dismissal
on that day, the last day of the year.). I chaperone at the Teen Center on Monday evenings,
and still try to keep the funds flowing while awaiting for a much-needed and much-hoped-for
grant from a state agency. Please pray! Thanks.

As promised, here are the phone number for us: Chartel - 304-374-4490; C.J. - 717-439-2354
and me 724-263-0505, all after 9 PM Eastern, or on weekends, please, unless it's an
emergency. C.J.'s email is cr1195@Messiah.edu; mine is heyrichey@yahoo.com. I don't know
Chartel's, but will try to get it for next blog.

As you may remember, it was 8 YEARS on April 25th since Jayne "graduated to glory"! Some
times it seems like yesterday, other times it seems far removed. I still have my "moments",
and I still look at the collages of her pictures now and then, remembering, praying, and
rejoicing that I had the privilege of knowing her, and especially of seeing her develop as a
Christian! She loved her Saviour, Jesus, very much, and worked tirelessly for His church and
the children in particular, both hers and the classes she taught and worked with. Life has sure
been different without her, but we're relieved by the knowledge that she is in Heaven with
her Lord!!

Have a great summer, feel free to keep in touch, and I'll see some of you when I come to
see the family in Kimberly, Wisconsin in late July or early August. God bless you!!!

Here's the latest from "Richeyville"

Just a note to say that we hope to update our family news on this site regularly. If interested
look in the first week of each month and see what's been happening with the Slovan Richeys.

For now, C.J. is finishing his Junior year at Messiah College, registered for a needed summer
course during the day, and working 3rd shift at school for the summer. He expects to graduate
in May, 2008 with a major in Spanish, a major in English, and a minor in French (if I understand
correctly) and will have his teaching certificate for each. He's been playing on a very good and
successful indoor soccer team at school, and really enjoying it.

Chartel is out of school for now, planning to take the GED test soon, then on to whatever she
thinks she wants to do in life. She has worked various jobs at restaurants in the Pittsburgh
Airport area, hoping to waitress when she turns 18 in October. Things may change by then,
of course, so we'll see. Her driving experiences leave much to be desired, and two major dents
on the Intrepid remain unrepaired due to cost factor. She remains a very pretty yet strong-
minded girl, with so much talent and intelligence lacking motivation and self-discipline. PRAY!

As for Bill, I am working 3 jobs, usually between 60 and 70 hours a week, trying to get as many
of the bills paid off or down before Chartel's Social Security checks stop in September. If she
remains in the house I'm sure she will help with expenses some, but I want to be in a position
to handle any/all payments without her assistance, anticipating the day she leaves and goes
on with her life. Still single, unattached, unsuccessful, but thanking God for his blessings.
I refereed basketball again this past winter, reluctantly, then "retired" again after doing the
Pittsburgh Steeler charity basketball at the local high school. Will do that game again next
Spring, as requested, but don't plan to do regular school basketball again. Who knows, if I
discover the "fountain of not-so-oldness" I may hit the hardwoods because I really enjoy
the game, the youngsters, and the extra cash is nice.

Will "log off" for now. Plan to be more specific about our news next time - it's late and I have
to work in the morning - that's not new! Chartel, C.J., and Bill
