The deal is done! The die is cast! Our future is sealed! We are "one"!
Yes, at 2 PM on August 2nd, Cindy and I repeated the vows we wrote
for each other, and were united in marriage!
After a "whirlwind" honeymoon in Wisconsin, the couple is now residing
in Slovan. We took a helicopter ride with Bill (my son) piloting, my first
and last helicopter ride. Huh! We visited the Outagamie County
Historical Society Museum, with the "AKA Houdini" exhibit, which was
very fascinating. We spend as much time as we could with "our"
grandsons, Bryce (13), Garrett (11), and Nolan (6), including watching
Karate practice, eating at a Mexican restaurant, swimming in our
hotel's pool, and taking pictures as they played in an amusement
center, their favorite being the "bumper cars"!
We also drove up to Green Bay to meet my friend John Meyer, and
visited Lambeau Field and the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame.
Back to home, and reality - we got here about 4:30 PM Saturday, and
I was back to work at 2 on Sunday. Off today, we drove up to Beaver,
PA for lunch and a very enjoyable visit with Aunt Doris, my Dad's sister.
C.J. drove to Harrisburg for an interview today, and is hopeful for the
position with Hollister's, which he will work while locating assignments
utilizing his Spanish. He has a friend from Messiah that he will share
housing with, and he will be close to Leeann as she finishes her last year
of college at Messiah. He's driving home tonight to work early
tomorrow at Pier One, which also has offered him a transfer to a
Harrisburg area store.
Chartel announced this week her intentions to begin college classes
at West Virginia Northern!! WOW! She needed her GED scores and
a form filled in by her father (me?), so I'll be glad to try to support
her in any way I can. Happy to see that she plans to use those
God-given brains and abilities!
Please logon to PAFocus.com for my weekly columns and other
feature articles. My current subject for the column is "Why I
Should Be President Of the U.S.!" Take a peek - you'll be
surprised and maybe impressed by my credentials and my
platform. Ha-Ha? Maybe not so funny.
Call or write or email - be glad to hear from you,
Cindy, Chartel, C.J. and that other guy.

Ding dong, the bells are gonna chime........
It's here! By this time tomorrow Cindy and I will be married, and about to be one our way
to Wisconsin!
The ceremony will be performed by her minister/brother, George, at the Cathedral of
Hope/East Liberty Presbyterian Church, in Pittsburgh. Just a small group of family
and a couple of close friends for each of us will be in attendance, then off to a family-
owned restaurant for an intimate dinner.
Plans are to go part way that evening, then arrive in Kimberly/Appleton late Sunday
afternoon or early evening. We'll visit and entertain and be entertained by Bill and
Colleen and the 3 grandsons, whom I haven't seen since last summer, and who
Cindy hasn't met or talked to yet.
C.J. and Leeann, his girlfriend, intend to be at the wedding, but Chartel still has to
let her intentions be known. Hopefully she'll show up.
C.J. will be leaving in a couple of weeks to move back to Harrisburg. His job at
Hollister's is still open, and the opportunity to take management training is
still being offered him, so he'll have a respectable income while pursuing the
use of his Spanish skills. It's been good to have him around the house, though
we haven't had much time together, just got out once to hit the tennis balls
around.
My writing for the PAFocus paper is taking off, with my weekly column getting
a lot of attention and comments from my readers. Currently we are running a
4-part series of my many trips for Rite Aid, with Cape Cod and Plimouth
Plantation featured in this week's edition, complete with 4 pictures I took.
A lot of folks liked my "Do You Remember?" columns, and a third one will
probably be in print soon. The next two weeks my title is "If I Was The
President!", which is meeting with mixed reactions from my following.
Ha-Ha!
Got to finish packing tonight, copy my vows on 3 x 5 cards (Cindy already
has done hers), and get a good night's rest. Oh, yes, we wrote our own
vows for the wedding - they will posted on the web at some point - we'll
let you know.
That's all for now. More after we get back home. Love, Chartel, C.J.,
Cindy and Bill.
