September '07 "ramblings"?!

I'm sure you've been anxiously awaiting my new post - well, be anxious no more, as here it is:

C.J. is now a Senior at Messiah College, having been home recently for a dentist and doctor
appointments, and repeating same for Fall Break October 11-14. His latest "thing" is to join
the Peace Corps (!), hoping to go to Morroco, where they need French and Spanish speaking
people, which, of course, he does well at. THIS SHOULD BE INTERESTING! Thankfully, the
college is offering the course(s) he needed to get the proper accreditation he's working toward,
having such course(s) recently added to this year's curriculum. And some say God is sleeping!
HUH! I don't think so!

He still plays soccer every chance he gets, both on and off campus, hoping to make the club
team, which has a shorter schedule than the varsity, and, of course, less pressure as far as
practicing, etc. They do play the club teams of other area colleges, so that should be a very
exciting experience for him should he make the team.

He's hoping to purchase his own car soon, having saved some of his summer's pay, and I'll
help some if he finds a car he's happy with. That'll mean a trip to Harrisburg, which I will
gladly do to help him get the "car of his dreams"!?

Chartel is now working for Starbucks, full-time, and hoping to still work part-time at her
old Eat 'N' Park job. She's making her monthly car/insurance payments on time, thank
the Lord, though I still contribute most of the cost of her insurance. Her license will be
suspended as of Tuesday, and she still hasn't sent in her application for a work-related
driving permit, so it will be "interesting" to see what happens. I can't let her drive, since
the car is still in my name, because if she gets caught, she could have her license revoked
or suspended further, and our insurance may be cancelled! OUCH! I can't have that, as
C.J. and I both still need to drive. I'm hoping her probation officer will be able to help in
this situation. I'll call her when I'm done with this "post".

Do you still have the kids' cellphone numbers? Chartel's is 304-374-4490, and C.J.'s is
304-914-2249, and mine is 724-263-0505 -----NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS, PLEASE.

I'm too busy, the reason for resigning from the Teen Center effective September 30th.
I'll still chaperone and help with fundraising, but will concentrate more of my energies
on the Boxing Club. Also, Rite Aid has made me a "Store Integration Specialist", which
sends me out to some of the Brooks and Eckerd stores which we bought, helping them to
transition into the Rite Aid systems and policies. I spent a week in Bridgewater, Mass.,
recently, and will be in Butler, PA this coming week. Then, on the 25th I'll go to Holyoke,
Mass., be back 5 or 6 days, and go again to Townsend, Mass. I did my first commercial
flying on the previous trip, with no problems, and will do so on the other 2 Massachusetts
ventures. The company provides a rental car, hotel room, and allows $50 daily for meals!
I can't eat that much, drat! I will drive a rental car this week, as Butler is only about
90 minutes away. I'll stay up there, as 3 hours of driving on top of the work day (some-
times 12 hours) is a bit too much.

My physique was much improved when I took the last trip, but I lifted and carried a
rack that I shouldn't, so I'm back into therapy, having had 3 back-to-back-to-back
sessions this week past. I'm feeling better, but now I have to not do anything stupid
again. What are the chances? Hush! That wasn't nice. Ha-Ha.

Got some laundry going as I need to pack soon, especially since I'm working all day (12 1/2
hours) tomorrow, and have to leave at 7 AM Tuesday to drive to Butler. A friend will take
me to the Pittsburgh Airport after work tomorrow to pick up the rental car.
