Good day, we trust all is well with you. We pray so.
THANKS for your "checking in" - it appears somebodies are interested in what's
happening with Jayne's family.
C.J. is "digging in" at Messiah College, making the most out of his last few months
there. He's slacked off of playing soccer to pursue those things that will matter
most for his future, and to get himself ready for whatever God has in store for him.
He will be home this week for dentist and doctor visits, and a little "R and R",
catching up on what's new with his high-school friends. I'm hoping he'll be home
for more than a couple of days when the holidays get here, as I won't be here
to see him this visit, again! More about that later.
Chartel is still working at Starbucks near the big mall by the airport, and seems
to be unencumbered by a boyfriend at the present. Huh? I can't keep up with
her comings and goings, as we're rarely home at the same time, what with our
very different work schedules, etc. She manages to get here when she needs
"something", such as clean clothes, a shower, money(?), food, et al. Oh well,
SHE'LL BE 18 ON THE 18th!!! Can you believe it? Jayne's little "terror"
(daughter), "little Lellie", WILL ACTUALLY BE 18! WOW! Not sure what's
she's planning to do yet, but she talks about technical school or junior college
after New Year's.
Did I tell you what her GED score was? The "Standard Score Average" as
stated on the report we received is 666. Her score, (are you sitting down?),
is 3,330!! Yes, that's 3 thousand, 3 hundred, and thirty! Through the roof!
She has so much potential, so much God-given ability, so much natural
intelligence, that I pray daily she'll put it to some good use. ANY good use!
Please pray for her. Thank you.
Personally, I've done quite a bit of travelling for Rite Aid. My first gig was in
Bridgewater, Massachusetts, then to Butler, PA, then to Springfield, Mass.
and Holyoke, and Ware (all in one trip), and now on to Dennis Port, Mass, on
CAPE COD! I leave Monday morning (the 8th), fly to Boston (again), pick up
my rental car (company covers everything), drive to South Yarmouth, and
begin work at 9 AM Tuesday. Will be training former Brooks Pharmacy
employees again, but hope to do some serious sight-seeing up the Cape and
along the shore, especially the lighthouses, and hopefully Martha's Vineyard.
While in Springfield I drove past the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, where
I spent 5 hours on Sunday before coming home. What an exciting experience!
Of course, I picked up T-shirts for Chartel and myself, some Spurs souvenirs
for C.J. and some Hall of Fame pens. Never thought I'd get a chance to see
that place, and I thank God for the opportunity!
Otherwise, the work on the house is done until Spring, 'cept I still hope to
finish painting the porch. That is if I can stay home long enough. I came home
this last time to 7 boxes of American Greetings items that I needed to put
up. Whew! I'm told this is my last trip until the first of the year, probably
because of the holidays, etc., but I'm on the list for future assignments. I told
my District Office contact that I'll go anywhere anytime. I'm liking these
"working vacations"!
One more thing............I mentioned that I resigned from the Teen Center......
now I'm writing sports for the weekly newspaper that covers northwest
Washington County! My beat is the Burgettstown High School sports, and
I'll be filing my 4th football game report tomorrow. The paper comes out
on Wednesdays, dated Thursdays, and can be accessed at "PAFocus.com"
if you want to ready my handiwork. I've gotten positive comments, so hope
to pursue my "new career" into the basketball and baseball seasons if I
can do so.
IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO DO THE THINGS YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO!
Signing off for now. THANKS for caring - now it's time for sharing. Please let us
know what's happening with you and yours, and how everybody is. God Bless You!
