November Notes & News

Greetings, friend, we trust that you are enjoying life and its blessings.
We are. Cindy and I had our "second honeymoon", a driving trip to
and through much of New England, and it was perfect timing! The
colors were colorific, the skies bright blue, the temps ideal, the roads
clear, and the sights awesome!

From the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Mass., to a state
park on the Conneticut-Massachusetts border called Campbell's Falls,
we inhaled such beauty and wonder in God's creation. The Naismith
Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. captured our attention
for a few hours before heading to Maine. We bunked at York, Maine,
and visited the York Beach Lighthouse that evening and the next
morning before heading into Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where we
took a walking tour which included, among other sights, the
John Paul Jones homestead.

From Portsmouth down to Plimouth Plantation and Plymouth, where
the Pilgrams landed and lived, including photographing Plymouth Rock.
Thence to Cape Cod, dinner at a very nice restaurant where Cindy got
some of her seafood, then up the Cape, hitting every state park and
lighthouse up and down the "arm" that is the Cape. Driving home we
traveled through parts of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New York
before landing in Harrisburg to have dinner and breakfast with C.J.

Speaking of Ceej, he is doing well. He left his part-time job with Gap,
and is concentrating on his managerial training with Hollister's. He
and Leeann see each other regularly, and he still plays soccer every
chance he gets. They're planning on a trip home for Thanksgiving,
which will be a blessing.

Chartel is Chartel. Stopping by for her TV and comforter one day,
she assured me that she is doing well, keeping up with her classes,
and working full-time at I-Hop still. She turned 19! on the 18th,
can you belive it?

Plans for my "mini-retirement" are now in place, P.T.L.! I will work
the next 3 weeks, after which I will have 13 vacation and personal
days for enjoying. When I return on December 7th, I will work
20 to 25 hours a week, 3 days, basically, while starting to do my
writing. Word is that 1 or 2 larger papers that are part of our
company may start printing my column! How sweet is that?!
I plan to write magazine articles, poetry, and of course the book
or two that I feel led/inspired to do. How sweet is that?!
Please pray for success and the ability to do well. Thanks.

Cindy is in Winchester, Virginia until tomorrow afternoon (Sunday),
visiting her daughter, Joy, and her husband, Doug, and their girls.
One of her grandaughters had her "Senior Night" last night, and
she wanted to be there for her. Cool! I'm baching it, and doing okay.

Comments, emails, letters, and calls are always welcome. Have a
great day, month, and Holiday Season. We love you, the Richeys.

If you haven't been, please visit PAFocus.com and read my columns
and sports reports. They're "different". I HEARD THAT!
